The Hope Chapel Windsor Story

In late 2001, Mark and Starla Wilmarth from Hope Chapel Santa Rosa felt God leading them to plant a new church in Windsor.
Mark had been a staff pastor at Hope Chapel Santa Rosa for 10 years. After much prayer, counsel and research, a tentative plan was put in motion to confirm God's direction. The Wilmarth's met with six other couples to map out the vision.

Our original plant team included 35 adults and 25 children. Our first service was held September 1, 2002, in the back yard of Scott and Lisa Gillis. The next week we had our first service at the Windsor Community Center. Grand Opening was held September 22, 2002, with 175 people in attendance. Everyone was sensing God was doing a new thing as this new church was born. We met at the Windsor Community Center for exactly two years. In September 2004, Hope Chapel Windsor moved into its current facility on Bell Road.

As a church family, we are bringing people to Jesus and including them in our lives. This is best explained in four words: Love, Mend, Train, Send. This is what we are committed to: loving people to Jesus, helping them mend their lives, training them in the Word of God, and sending them to their family, friends and community to bring them to Jesus and so on. . . to see the Kingdom of God continue to grow.We have come from a long and rich heritage of church planters. Hope Chapel Windsor is a daughter church of Hope Chapel Santa Rosa, and a great granddaughter to the original Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach, CA. We believe that healthy churches can give birth to healthy reproducing churches. This is part of our genetic code as a church.
